This painting is a portrait of a Spanish Purebred Stallion and it took some time to pose... After a considerable time spent watching and photographing this lovely but laid back horse I was beginning to despair of achieving 'the look' that I was seeking, something that would do his breeding justice. This was resolved by the simple measure of walking a mare past his field a few times whereupon he instantly came alive with this wonderful expression and looking every inch the stallion!
