The Horseman

This is another image based on Working Equitation... One of the requirements is for the rider to perform a test (similar to dressage) in walk and canter but always with one hand free. In Spain this hand is tucked in to the jacket but in Portugal a birch stick is carried - a tradition which is maintained in the Spanish Riding School in Vienna by the leading rider when giving his solo performance.
